How long have you been a YNPN Phoenix member?

About 5 months.

Favorite YNPN event or memory?

Participating in LINK 2017! I loved pitching Read Better Be Better alongside such great NonProfits in my community.

Favorite place in Phoenix to grab coffee?

Jobot.

What was it about your organization that made you want to be involved?

The culture and values (Be Excellent. Be Kind) of Read Better Be Better reflect exactly how I feel and the way I wish to live. I truly feel that the work I get to do with RBBB is the most important work I will ever do, and will positively impact my community forever.

Tell us about one of the most valuable things you’ve learned from working for your organization (or nonprofit orgs in general).

Our CEO often says, “investing in education is the only way to achieve social justice”. I’ve learned to live out this belief and it has changed my life.

What one piece of advice would you offer someone who’s new to the nonprofit industry?

Be passionate, and work hard! It’s the people of the nonprofit sector who are impacting their communities and the world, so setting a standard of mediocrity for yourself won’t cut it!

What do you hope to contribute to YNPN Phoenix as a new board member?

I hope to be able to engage more people in YNPN and help make connections among members of the community.
