Letter from the President
Dear Members,
What a busy time this is for us all. May often brings not only the heat, but spring galas, the end of the school year, college graduations, and so much more. Here at YNPN we recently had volunteer day, where members were able to spend some time at A New Leaf, an amazing Valley nonprofit supporting families in their times of need. This follows an informative program in March on advocacy from our friends at Arizona Citizens for the Arts and the Center for the Future of Arizona.
This month, we are looking forward to celebrating AAPI Heritage Month, our upcoming May Coffee Chat, our networking social, as well as beginning our Board recruitment, which is where I will need your help. We are committed to ensuring YNPN has the best of the best when it comes to members and providing a place for our members to grow their leadership skills, by serving on our Board. Additionally, we are also committed to ensuring our Board of Directors is as diverse as the Valley we represent. I know the best people to serve on our Board or recruit new leaders are those of you who are already a part of the YNPN family.
By serving on our Board you can demonstrate the leadership skills you already have, but can also have a safe space to grow in the areas you are less familiar with and can expand your network to varying types of nonprofits and leaders. Would you be willing to apply and join us? Please fill out the application and we will schedule an interview for you. Not quite ready yet?? Can you share the information below with at least three people in your network?
If we all do this we can ensure that YNPN will continue to be a strong leadership organization and the preeminent voice in the sector and in the community, for young nonprofit professionals in the Valley. If you are in need of more information, would like to join a committee, or want to learn more details regarding board service or anything else YNPN is doing, please do reach out to me at president@ynpnphoneix.org. Meeting and helping our members is the best part of my role as President! Our recruitment letter is linked below and I look forward to seeing you at one of the upcoming events in May.
With appreciation,
Naquana Borrero, CFRE
